digitech19 hits Manchester for a successful second event

Thank you to everyone who attended and exhibited at digitech19, which took place at Manchester Central on 19 November 2019.

We are pleased to say that this year’s event, which we hosted in partnership with Public Sector Connect, was a huge success. There were 104 exhibitors in attendance on the day, 35 of which were SMEs, showcasing to over 500 technology and procurement professionals from right across the public sector. It was great to see so many familiar faces from last year’s event, as well as many new ones.

We had a fantastic selection of guest speakers on the day, with representatives from across the public and private sectors delivering compelling plenary and seminar sessions for our delegates. The sessions aimed to address some of the key issues affecting the UK’s public sector technology landscape, including:

  • Innovation – James Young, Head of ICT Strategy and Enterprise Architecture at Cantium Business Solutions delivered a seminar in the SME arena on the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) lifecycle from start to finish. James explained how RPA can target key areas and challenges in the public sector, as well as how to measure the success of the new technology.
  • Capability – Rachel Murphy, Chief Executive at Different and Emilia Cedeno, Enhancing Capability Lead at CCS, discussed multi supplier delivery for agile development, explaining how enhancing capabilities can help us to engage with suppliers more effectively.
  • Technology procurement – I, Peter Kirwan, Deputy Director of Technology at CCS, talked through a step-by-step guide on how to make technology procurement simple.
  • Cyber securitySal Uddin, Deputy Director of Technology at CCS, talked to a packed audience about ways in which they can protect their IT estate.

We also hosted our own intimate box sessions, offering  delegates the opportunity to focus in on key areas of technology such as digital future, technology products and services, network services and software and cyber. Delegates were able to ask our experts their burning questions.

Neil Harrison, Category Specialist for Technology Solutions at CCS said: “The box sessions allowed customers to speak to the category experts at CCS, making them feel an integral part of the event.”  Lucy Mccormack, Category Manager, Spark also added: “Sessions proved very popular with a high level of engagement.”

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone again for attending digitech19 – we hope to see you all in 2020.
