Crown Commercial Service (CCS) is working in partnership with Electronics Watch to provide insight and engagement for assured technology hardware purchasing options for public sector customers. This is to help them buy with the confidence that these options avoid modern slavery within their supply chains.
The project within the CCS Technology Products and Services area will initially review the hardware supply chains within the Technology Products 2 framework. It will analyse, detect and mitigate the risk of modern slavery in the hardware supply chain through resellers and hardware Original Equipment Manufacturer suppliers.
Lessons learned during this initial stage will be built into future procurements, such as Technology Products 3, and the work will be rolled out to other technology framework agreements with a risk of modern slavery.
Electronics Watch helps public sector organisations work together and collaborate with monitors in production regions to protect the rights and safety of workers in their electronics supply chains.
The partnership between CCS and Electronics Watch should assist both parties in terms of development and detection of modern slavery in the global hardware supply chain. The goal is for good public procurement for the common good.
